Case Study 1
This organization was looking to optimize their inventory management process using their existing Salesforce CRM platform. This can be challenging because CRMs are usually not used for inventory management. This aspect is usually the turf of expensive ERP systems, which the customer didn’t want to purchase due to budget constraints.
We built a custom setup on the customer’s Salesforce platform that allows them to easily track shipments, carriers, assets, and office supplies - all from one simple visual interface. They can also track asset expiration dates and other useful information, and assign or re-assign assets to the right department, all of which simplifies and optimizes inventory and asset management. We used a React.js application wrapped with Salesforce Lightning and also built connectors to their label printer and bar code scanner to further simplify the process.
The system enables the organization to save a significant amount of money since they don’t need to implement a costly ERP program to track their small inventory. Moreover, by tracking assigned assets, they have full visibility into asset owners and status, thus avoiding confusion, rework, and wastage. Finally, up-to-date information about asset status and availability enables them to replenish inventory on time, thus minimizing wait time for users and optimizing the supply budget.
